Three Things I Love About Spring

Attention Winter haters: we’ve almost done it. We are almost in the clear. The Spring Equinox is on 20 March! I love Spring, especially after a seemingly never ending cold & windy winter. This week I thought I'd share Three Things I Love About Spring.

The promise it brings with it.

The first time of the year where you can smell warmth. Do you know what I mean? It's the warmth on the breeze, the lack of cold air in your nostrils. A breeze blows and it is warm, not always chilling. This makes me realise that warmer weather is coming. It's also a great time to make some new promises to yourself. Especially if you don't go for that New Year's Resolution pressure at the beginning of the year. How will you make this new season better for yourself? How will you improve your life? I prefer to think of adding good things in, rather than taking things out.

Lighter mornings and lighter evenings.
When I leave my house in the evening for GoodGym I have been leaving in the dark for the last few months. Now, it's getting lighter, and when the clocks change? Even more so and I cannot wait. It also means I don't have to wait around so long to see the sun rise in the morning.

More time outdoors.
Last year I was really good and went camping on my birthday in January so I knew I'd already had the first camp of the season. I knew it would only go up from there. I did a similar thing with a sea swim this year, where I went into the sea on the 1st of January with my friend. We know we've been in there already, it makes it less intimidating. I've not managed to get out camping yet this year, and I am so excited for my first night under the stars. I hope to have many more picnics this year, and continue to enjoy nature. I haven't got any huge adventures planned, but I prefer little and often instead. I've got some things I'll tick off my list this year, and I'm going into the Spring season ready to get started.

I have already seen my first daffodil and my first crocus. Have you? What is your favourite thing about Spring? How will you celebrate it?
