Three Things I’m Looking Forward To Over Christmas

We are a day away from the most wonderful day of the year. I’ve had a very busy festive period and am looking forward to some much deserved rest and relaxation. I am actually taking some proper time off over the holidays this year, a first for me since running my own business. What will that mean for me? I’ll work a half day on Christmas Eve and have Christmas Day and Boxing Day off. Totally off. No work, no emails, nothing. Pure unadulterated Christmas celebration time with my family. So apart from the time off and getting to spend time with those nearest and dearest, there are small pieces of Christmas tradition and also new things I’m looking forward to. So here we have Three Things I'm Looking Forward To Over Christmas.

Spending good, quality time with family.
Not the rushed moments you grab when everyone is distracted and always thinking about something else. Christmas is as much about being present as it is about presents. I’m looking forward to switching off for a few days and getting to spend quality time with the fam. Chatting about the year and our plans for the future. I love this time of year.

Eating way too much.
It is a rule with Christmas it seems - I always eat way too much. There is a plethora of food around and I’d never usually consider eating that much but Christmas seems to be the excuse. I’m helping my brother cook Christmas dinner this year for my mum and dad, our friend and my niece. It is going to be interesting for sure.

A festive run.
After all that sitting around and eating, I’m looking forward to getting out for a nice run. I’ve got a longer run planned and I’m hoping it helps me feel better and blow out some of the cobwebs. I’ll certainly be topped up with carbs 😂 Last year I went for a run on Christmas Day and I am unable to that this year, so will settle for a post Christmas run.

What are your favourite Christmas traditions? What are you most looking forward to over the holidays?
